Tara McRae to serve as TB12’s First CMO
Tara McRae is joining performance and wellness brand TB12 as the company’s first CMO. The newly created role will task McRae with positioning the brand amongst the top names in wellness and performance as they continue to grow. One of Brand Innovators’ top 50 women in brand marketing, McRae is bringing 20 plus years of brand management experience, most recently working for Clarks in the same role.
Janelle Miller appointed VP for Independent Sports & Entertainment
Independent Sports & Entertainment has hired Janelle Miller as VP, Talent and Marketing. In this position, Miller will lead recruitment efforts for new marketing clients across all sports, specifically focussed on securing new sponsorship deals for clients. Miller joins ISE after a stint with WME Sports, where she most recently served as an agent for talent marketing, working closely with clients to find sponsorship opportunities.
Austin Penny re-joins Auburn Football
Austin Penny is starting his second stint with Auburn University’s Football program joining as Director of Content Strategy. Penny was previously with Auburn’s athletic department as a digital media specialist. Penny has worked for other world-renowned sports brands as well, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 247Sports.
Jesse Spector and Sam Fels’ hirings signal Deadspin revival
Once a prominent sports media source and blog, Deadspin is headed towards a reboot after hiring writers Sam Fels and Jesse Spector. Deadspin is back just months after mass resignations. Jesse Spector had been serving as a freelance writer for the last three years but worked for Sporting News previously. Sam Fels comes over from Real Fans Program.
Thomas Hitch continues #SMSports career with Arrow McLaren SP
Thomas Hitch is joining Arrow McLaren SP as Manager of Social Media and Content. Hitch joins the racing brand from CSM Sport & Entertainment where he rose the corporate ladder, working on prominent national accounts in a variety of social media roles such as Verizon, Ally, and Farmers Insurance.
