Marie Bernadette Obsuna, former social media and digital assistant for the Indiana Department of Athletics, is joining Mindshare as a Planning Associate. In her new role, Marie will be working directly with prominent social media brands Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Branching off from her SMSports background, she is excited to head back out West to continue her career.
Michael Ehrlich is joining FOX Sports as Senior Director of Brand Communications. In his new role, Ehrlich will be responsible for leading strategic communications and media relations for initiatives including storytelling for FOX Sports digital and social platforms. Previously, Ehrlich served as the VP of Marketing and Communications for Independent Sports & Entertainment.
Maggie Lanter is joining a prominent podcasting brand, Blue Wire as the VP of Business Development for the brand’s sports podcasting. A firm believer in the future of podcasting, Lanter will look to take Blue Wire in a direction that creates engaging content that entertains sports fans globally. Lanter joins Blue Wire from Wasserman where she most recently served as the Senior Manager, Brands.
WarnerMedia has tapped Jason Kilar to become the company’s new CEO. Kilar has an abundant amount of experience leading media brands over the course of the last 15 years. Most notably, Kilar served as the founding CEO of Hulu. Starting on May 1st, Kilar will be joining the WarnerMedia team ahead of the release of HBO Max.
Upon graduation this May, Audrey Ferguson will join the USGA’s Alabama Golf Association as Manager of Media, Marketing and Communications. A PR & Communications major at the University of Alabama, Ferguson will look to turn the tide on Golf’s popularity compared to other major US sports. Ferguson will also serve as the primary liaison for the Southern Golf Association.
Chris Wayland is joining NBCU’s Boston area stations as President and GM. Wayland starts his new role fresh from serving in the same role for NBC Sports Boston. Wayland’s familiarity with both NBC and the Boston market should help his transition to overseeing operations of multiple stations including WBTS, WNEU, NECN, and NBC Sports Boston.
Jake Marsh, Sports Business Reporter for Pardon My Take is joining the Barstool Sports team full-time. Marsh has been with Barstool for almost a year making appearances and providing news on one of the sports world’s most popular podcasts, Pardon My Take. Marsh will also serve as the play-by-play announcer for a project to be named later.
World-renowned boxing manager, Adrian Clark is joining Fight Network as a consultant to help develop original content and programming for the new network. A subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, Fight Network is being developed to support growth across new sectors and platforms. In addition to helping develop new content, Clark aims to bring in strategic partnerships.
