Max Brawer joins Twitch as Head of People Analytics

Max Brawer has joined Twitch to lead people analytics. Brawer will be responsible for building a more data driven people and place function, with his passion for digging in with data and thoughtfulness about people experience keys to him getting the role. Brawer was BuzzFeed’s people analytics manager for almost two years, whilst his most recent role was with Google where he was their program manager for G Suite and Google Cloud.

TickPick appoints Jim Halliday as company’s first Chief Marketing Officer

TickPick has appointed Jim Halliday as its first-ever chief marketing officer in the company’s nine-year history. An industry veteran, Halliday steps into the role after years of leading various retail brands in their marketing operations. He joins the no-fee ticketing site after serving as CMO at subscription food service provider Plated. Previously, Halliday led marketing operations for Bed Bath & Beyond, Procter & Gamble and Rosetta Marketing consulting firm.

Jessica Robertson moves to LA to build a new brand for and about female athletes

Longtime head of content for The Players’ Tribune, Jessica Robertson, has announced she has started a new venture in Los Angeles to build a new brand for and about female athletes. Robertson was with The Players’ Tribune for just over 5 years, and has held numerous roles in editing and as a leader in content. While she hasn’t revealed a great deal about this exciting new venture, Robertson will be the Chief Content Officer of this new brand.

Nick Underhill leaves The Athletic to launch his own subscription site

After spending just under a year with The Athletic as their New England Patriots beat writer, Nick Underhill has decided to leave the company to go back to do what he loves – covering the New Orleans Saints. Prior to accepting his new role with The Athletic, Underhill was a Saints beat writer for The Advocate for just under five years, and he will be going back to doing just that after he announced he will be starting his own subscription site covering New Orleans football.

Astasia Williams announces she’ll be heading up Redskins’ socials

Astasia Williams has announced that she will be the senior social media manager for the Washington Redskins. Williams has experience in the NFL after she held the social media content coordinator role with the Carolina Panthers for two years, which was before she switched to soccer with D.C United to hold the same role she’ll be undertaking with the Redskins.

Van Lathan joins The Ringer

Former TMZ personality Van Lathan will be joining Bill Simmons’ The Ringer. Simmons made the announcement on Tuesday via his Twitter account, saying that Lathan will be joining his company to make podcasts and other “fun stuff.” Simmons also revealed that they will be developing a new show with Lathan. This all comes after Lathan was fired from TMZ late last year.
