This week in the sports media and marketing ecosystem, Fox Sports names their new EVP/Head of Production and Operations, Under Armour taps Harley-Davidson executive as Chief People and Culture Officer, and prominent racing journalist Bob Pockrass announces his move to Fox Sports.

Fox Sports Names EVP/Head of Production and Operations
Brad Zager is to replace Fox Sports President of Production John Entz in the merged role as Fox Sports’ EVP/Head of Production and Operations. In his new role, Zager will oversee all live event production, pre/post game shows, all operations, and creative services. Additionally, he will also be responsible for the look, sound and editorial content for game broadcasts. Zager previously ran operations across all productions airing on Fox Sports, FS1 and FS2.
Under Armour Taps Harley-Davidson Exec as Chief People and Culture Officer
After nearly two decades with Harley-Davidson, Inc., Tchernavia Rocker is joining Under Armour as the company’s new Chief People and Culture Officer. In her new role, Rocker will lead all facets of Under Armour’s human resource functions and partner with the executive leadership team to execute the company’s people and culture strategy.
Racing Journalist Shifts from ESPN to Fox Sports
Following a recent ESPN layoff, prominent racing journalist Bob Pockrass is making the move to Fox Sports as the network’s newest NASCAR insider on both their linear and digital platforms. Pockrass previously covered NASCAR for ESPN since 2015. Noted in a tweet, Pockrass announced he will begin coverage for Fox Sports with the Daytona 500 next month.
GMR Marketing Announces Chief Strategy Officer
GMR’s Elke Jones has been promoted from the company’s EVP of Strategy and Insights to Chief Strategy Officer. In her new role, Jones will continue to create GMR’s propriety IP and lead GMR’s team of global planners. With over 15 years with the company, Jones will oversee the agency’s global brand and communications.
New Orleans Native Named President of Magic Johnson Enterprises
LA-based Magic Johnson Enterprises has promoted Christina M. Francis from within as president after serving as vice president of marketing and communications since 2014. In her new role, Francis will manage the corporation’s day-to-day operations including strategy, business development and managing many of the organization’s partnerships.
K2 Sports Announces Global VP of Marketing
Tim Swart is expanding on a portfolio of passion-driven outdoor brands by joining K2 Sports as the company’s new Global Vice President of Marketing. In his new role, Swart will oversee a wide variety of leading brands that make up some of the leading respected names in the outdoor industry. Swart previously led marketing efforts for many reputable snow and lifestyle brands.
Minor League Baseball Unveils Series of New Hirings and Promotions
Amongst the hirings and promotions of executives in Minor League Baseball, Laurie Nygren joins the league as Senior Digital Project Manager, Heather Raburn has been promoted to Director of Partnership Marketing and Cory Bernstine has been promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing Strategy and Research.
