Equinox Brings on New CMO
The fitness brand has tapped Seth Solomons as the company’s new CMO. In his new role, Solomons is expected to merge both data and tech to further grow the Equinox brand going forward as many new developments are being finalized for the fitness powerhouse. Prior to coming aboard Equinox, Solomons worked as CEO of the North American division at Wunderman, a global digital agency.
Williams Formula One Expands On Team
Jamie Chadwick has been brought on by Williams Formula One team as the team’s new development driver. In her new role with the only Formula One team currently run by a woman, Chadwick will be ‘fully immersed’ into the team with a busy simulator program, including attending three European races with the team. Chadwick is currently the leader of the women’s W Series and became the first woman to win a British Formula Three race last year.
Spectra Hires Director of Esports Partnerships
Spectra has brought on Joe Heyer as the company’s Director of Esports Partnerships. In his new role, Heyer is set to oversee the sponsorship sales for N3rd Street Gamers, Philadelphia Fusion, and the upcoming Fusion Arena. Prior to joining the venue management and partnerships company, Heyer worked with NBC Sports Philadelphia as a senior account executive.
Under Armour Exec Jumps to Lagardère Sports & Entertainment
Conrad Lagemann is joining Lagardère Sports, the sports and entertainment agency subsidiary within the multinational media conglomerate, as Director of International Kit Partnerships. In his new role, Lagemann will be responsible for the international outfitter rights of Lagardère Sports & Entertainment in all sports, with a focus on the marketing of football associations and clubs, as well as football players. Lagemann previously worked as a sports marketing manager for the DACH region of Under Armour.
rEvolution Acquires New CFO
Emily Szymczak has been brought on by rEvolution, the integrated global sports marketing agency, as the company’s new CFO. Szymczak will be responsible for leading the agency’s financial strategic guidance while supporting the sales group and the global presence of the company. Szymczak previously worked as CFO of Engine Media, with additional management experience at The Marketing Store and Leo Burnett.
Turner Sports COO Steps Down
First reported by John Ourand on Twitter, Turner Sports COO Matt Hong reportedly informed his staff that he is leaving the company within the month. After spending over a decade with the company, Hong recently sent out a memo saying he first put forward the idea of leaving a ‘few months ago’ and he will now ‘take a few months to recharge, both mentally and physically’.
Snap Names VP of US Enterprise Sales
Luke Kallis has been promoted with Snap Inc. from Head of West Coast Sales to VP of U.S. Enterprise Business Solutions. His new role comes under Snapchat’s parent company’s reorganization of its U.S. advertising team. In his new role, Kallis is set to take charge of all major Snap client business in the U.S. Kallis initially joined Snap in June 2015 where he previously focused on Hollywood studio clients. Prior to Snap, Kallis spent over five years at Vevo as SVP of National Sales.
Charlotte Hornets Announce Various Executive Shifts
The Charlotte Hornets have released a series of shifts within their executive leadership staff. Amongst these changes include the promotion of Josh Kramer to lead brand management, along with Seth Bennett now set to run the new fan experience and traditional marketing division. Kramer has been with the Hornets creative team since 2015, while Bennett has been with the team since 2006.
McLaren Racing Appoints Managing Director of Sales & Marketing
McLaren Racing has appointed Mark Waller to the new position of Managing Director of Sales and Marketing. In his new role, Waller will oversee all aspects of the company’s commercial and marketing activity. A Britain native, Waller has lead an international business career that spans more than 25 years with global companies.
