Anthony Dicosmo has been named the head of global sports marketing for Nike’s Jordan Brand. Dicosmo’s a former standout wide receiver and has spent the past decade-plus working in and around the sports industry. Most recently, he served as Nickelodeon’s senior vice president of global sports marketing and development. Prior to that Dicosmo was with Spike TV managing special projects and partnerships with various organizations at the local government and community level.
Nick Bell, who has been with Snapchat for nearly five years, is set to leave the company. He will transition out of his role at the end of the year and will take time off before deciding his next venture. As the VP of content for Snapchat, Bell lead media partnerships for the company through the launch of its Discover page in 2015, as well as spearheading the ideation and implementation of the mobile platform’s original content.
Miguel Santos has been hired as EVP and managing director of Jungo TV. Founded by Dr. OZ, Jungo TV is a global OTT distribution company, responsible for over 47,000 hours of content and over 80 live channels for international distribution. In the new position, Santos will lead the day-to-day of Jungo TV’s owned and operated networks (including Combat Go), in addition to expanding the company’s existing partnerships. Most recently, Santos served as the general manager of Myx TV, the multicultural Asian American cable network. Before that, he worked with MTV Networks Asia as the head of production and on-air promotions.
Susanna Dinnage, global president of Discovery Network’s Animal Planet, will become the Premier League’s chief executive. This is a momentous hire not only because Dinnage will be the Premier League’s first female chief executive, but the move signifies one of the world’s most watched sports league’s interest in talent from the media world. Prior to being named global president of Animal Planet, Dinnage served as the president of Discovery UK and Ireland, and chief content officer for Discovery Networks International, whose portfolio includes Eurosport.
