With a shoestring budget of $300, our World Cup campaign leveraged a custom TikTok filter to empower creators and generate massive engagement: over 1 million videos, 600 million views, and 3,000 sign-ups – a testament to the power of creative solutions.
How does this represent “Excellence in Engagement”?
This campaign sets new benchmarks in fan engagement by prioritizing user-generated content (UGC) within a cost-effective framework. Our custom TikTok filter empowered fans (550,000 video creators) to actively participate in the World Cup by creating engaging content (600 million+ views). This democratization of content creation, achieved with a minimal budget ($300), surpasses traditional methods and highlights the power of fostering a community around a brand.
The campaign’s success inspires the industry to move beyond expensive, one-way communication. By providing fans with the tools to express their passion, brands can foster deeper connections, generate massive reach organically, and potentially harvest valuable user data (3,000+ sign-ups). This innovative approach empowers fans, reduces campaign costs, and unlocks new levels of engagement, paving the way for a more interactive future in sports marketing.
Objective
Our primary goal was to achieve significant impact despite an extremely limited budget ($300) within the saturated world cup campaign landscape. We aimed to disrupt traditional content creation by empowering users (decentralization) while maintaining brand control through the custom filter's visuals. This innovative approach focused on maximizing reach and engagement.
Strategy & Execution
The design and execution prioritized the modern, fast-paced sports fan. We recognized their shift towards content creation and built a tool – a TikTok filter – that fit seamlessly into their habits. The interactive bracket addressed their desire for quick engagement with the World Cup's knockout stages, allowing for instant content creation around the ever-changing tournament. This empowered them to be active participants, not just passive viewers, during the sporting event's nonstop schedule.
