ABOUT THIS ENTRY
WWE was an early adapter to utilizing social media platforms and new technologies as ways to engage and connect with its fans around the world. Now a digital powerhouse, WWE currently boasts more than 1 billion social media followers and is the #2 most-followed sports brand in the world across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Always looking at new emerging social media platforms and staying on the cutting-edge of trends, in 2019, WWE launched its official TikTok channel empowering fans to create and interact with WWE content in fresh and exciting ways.
How does this represent “Excellence in Engagement”?
A fan first organization with global appeal, WWE is always looking for new ways connect with its fans on a deep and meaningful level. Through a new content licensing deal, WWE's output on the platform will continue to increase as well as lead to the launch of several Superstar accounts. Following the success of WWE’s Español TikTok handle, which has reached nearly 2 million followers in its first year, WWE will launch three new international TikTok accounts in key territories that speak directly to our fans in the region and keep the product in front of them outside the traditional broadcast windows.

Strategy & Execution
Staying slightly ahead of the curve and understanding media consumption habits have shifted away from linear television, WWE is taking its digital presence to new heights by investing and creating new content to grow its fanbase across multiple channels.
One of WWE’s fastest growing platforms, WWE’s TikTok channel features classic moments, thrilling in-ring highlights, amusing backstage skits and so much more. WWE also leverages emerging TikTok trends, creative video edits and surprise Superstar appearances to keep followers engaged and entertained. Receiving access to entrance music for some of WWE’s most beloved, and iconic, Superstars and Hall of Famers, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Becky Lynch and John Cena, users can make unique, shareable videos that are both fun and unconventional.
