The Packers and Microsoft each committed $5 million to the venture fund, which will invest in high-growth startups aligned with industries in northeastern Wisconsin.
Out-of-state investors joining in TitletownTech’s venture fund are Jerry Jacobs Jr., Delaware North Co-CEO and alternate governor for the Boston Bruins, and Jeff Wilpon, partner of Sterling Project Development, Sterling Equities and chief operating officer of the New York Mets. Each will be members of the TitletownTech venture capital advisory board.
The general public will no doubt be most interested in the new, restaurant on the ground floor of the TitletownTech building. It will include local food and beer, and seven sports simulation bays powered by TopGolf Swing Suite.
TitletownTech will include an innovation lab, a business solutions segment called a venture studio, and the venture fund which is geared towards fostering growth in Wisconsin, and the addition of Jacobs and Wilpon will boost the fund toward its goal of $25 million.
AT&T believes it will hang on to DirecTV’s exclusive rights for the NFL Sunday Ticket, even as the league has said it’s considering ending the satellite operator’s exclusivity to extend the out-of-home games package to streaming platforms, on the heels of Disney's attempt to woo the league and new streaming plans. DirecTV’s current deal for Sunday Ticket extends through the 2019 NFL season.
Last month, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that the league wanted to expand the distribution of Sunday Ticket to online platforms in addition to DirecTV. “We’re looking to make sure that we continue to deliver this package, which is a premium package of great content,” he said. “We want it delivered on several different platforms.”

Just like a veteran worrying about rookies on the field, the Los Angeles Chargers’ senior director of digital media has some concerns about younger staffers who run the team’s social media channels. "They are on 24/7. It’s an amazing amount of effort, and these young people are dedicated to creating great content."
The Chargers’ social media playbook has one major goal: entertaining fans. Perhaps that’s why the team’s social media pages, which are managed in-house, perform at an all-pro level. Last week was particularly successful for the Chargers on Twitter, where the team had three viral moments between Tuesday and Thursday.
