Turner Sports signs multi-year deal to present live coverage of The Alliance of American Football

Turner Sports and The Alliance of American Football announced a multi-year, cross-platform partnership that will include live event coverage extending across a combination of Turner Sports platforms.

What are the details?

TNT will exclusively televise one Alliance regular season game and one playoff game each season throughout the length of the agreement, with additional regular season games available weekly via B/R Live.

TNT will televise the Salt Lake Stallions vs. Birmingham Iron on Saturday, Feb. 16, with the game time moving to 2 p.m. E, leading into their coverage of NBA All-Star Saturday Night.

The bottom line:

Joining forces with partners like Turner and B/R allows AAF to keep their mission moving forward and reach thousands of additional football fans.

Dwyane Wade joins BallerTV streaming platform as global ambassador

The NBA star has been named the first global ambassador for BallerTV, a subscription-based streaming platform for watching live youth and amateur sports. Wade will receive equity in the company as part of his new role.

Wade will represent BallerTV as the venture-backed startup looks to expand its coverage of youth sports events across the United States. The company currently provides live streams, highlights, and replays for 10,000 amateur games per weekend.

ESPN in negotiations to extend MLB media rights

Don’t expect Major League Baseball games to leave the Worldwide Leader In Sports anytime soon. The deal would come on the heels of FOX’ reaching an extension that runs seven years and begins in 2022 for $5.1 billion.

For two years now, BBTN has been “Sunday Night Countdown” programming leading up to Sunday Night Baseball. Baseball Tonight will also continue to be part of MLB’s “jewel events” such as the All-Star Game, MLB Little League Classic, Home Run Derby & All-Star Game and postseason, as well as events such as the Baseball Winter Meetings.

Just in time for the Big Game, Walmart announced a new, long-term partnership with Fanatics to launch a new specialty shop offering licensed fan gear on Walmart.com. The Fan Shop by Fanatics marketplace on Walmart.com will be populated with thousands of items from major sporting organizations including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR and MLS.
