The app was designed to assist and engage runners and spectators. Rigorous measurement and feedback is gathered to make sure that each year we are solving spectator pain points and adding value around the globe. To better serve this target audience, improvements were made that skyrocketed the app to a record number of downloads in 2018 - 437,609 - (most ever for any marathon).
The iOS app ranked #1 among top free sports, and for the second year in a row the iOS version of the app ranked #1 among free apps in the App Store on race day. The success of the app played a critical role in showcasing our technical expertise and raising awareness of our brand across the globe. Through this sponsorship, we are demonstrating a great example of the ‘front end’ technology that we can create for many of our customers.
